Dust Drive

I have forgotten that the medium is the message. I have been going about this all wrong. A notebook does more harm than good. I have always been spineless, so why should I try to conform now to life with a backbone? Looking back, the only things I ever needed was index cards or Post-its and a blue BiC Cristal. I’ve been scribbling out ideas this way more or less since high school and having them spread across my desk and bulletin board, building up out of my control. I did not realize then that I should not fight it. Matter needs space to be moved; the notebook is too binding, too linear for ordering the network of thoughts into words by hand. I will get overwhelmed easily and give up even easier, especially when my mood flips and I find myself buzzing with an overabundance of sudden inspiration and enthusiasm, meaning the project is going to inevitably expand out of my control in a direction all its own. Yet, that is precisely when I know I have something.
